Good foundation for not forgeting anything
This is a short, quick book that stays on track with all the must-haves, must-asks, and must-dos of wedding planning.You should pair this with something more flowery if you want to get into the gorgeous details of your wedding, but this is a basic essential for those of us who didn't want to forget anything!I used this to make my own checklists, agendas, plans, schedules, etc. in Microsoft Word and Excel (but you can also use the book as is).

Good book, but....
I found this to be an excellent book, but the constant plugs for the Sinclare Institute videos annoyed me while I was reading.Advertising for other books/products from the same author/publisher/company should be before the title page, or after the content, not at the end of each chapter, as well as several times throughout the chapter.

this is the best book on sex I've ever read...
...and believe me, I've read a few.I used to be an advice columnist, and if I wrote this clearly and amusingly, I'd probably still be in the business.10 Secrets doesn't float all over the place or get lost in heavy-breathing or New Agey mumbo julumbo.It offers a clear, delightful path to sexual fulfillment.My only concern now is keeping my husband from trying to meet Felicia Zopol.

HELP W/ ORGANIZING BOOKS
hi, found this while searching for books on organizing
Very Helpful Book
My husband and I recently bought a home and I really felt I needed to find some tips on being organized.I used to be very organized (and still am at work), but with the birth of my daughter almost a year and a half ago that has all gone down hill around the house.I came away with some really good tips for organization.Not to mention some good tips on how to get rid of ants and various other insects and rodents.Great book for any mom who feels their house needs a little boost in the organization department.

Definitely one to keep on hand
This is the kind of book that one would need to keep referring to, as one goes about ones life in the various roles described.I really like the way Kathy Peel gives a complete job description for each role, more or less, and answers questions that would come up as each job gets tackled.There is so much involved in being a family manager, and I'm sure she has covered everything.Having this book on the shelf is like having the wisdom of both sets of my grandparents and my parents right there. ... Good subject - Empty Content
THis book nailed it with the 6 pillars of a relationship, however, the content was very, basic.

Hope for working moms
This is a book that I have referred to over and over again to get myself organized and stay organized.Emile Barnes uses a no nonsense approach to get you organized.Her common sense system of using a timer and giving yourself 15 minutes to stay focused on your area of attack is great.I am a working mom with two toddlers.I read this book originally when I got married 7 years ago.I read it at least once a year to reinspire myself and as a constant reference to stay motivated with a busy schedule to get organized.

The best organization book out there!

Must read if you are having a Reunion!
Excellent book with a lot of info and good Ideas. Will not be disappointed with this Book!A great book for planning a reunion.

Finally--A Unique, Lighthearted Book on Sex!
This is one of the better sex books I've read. There are actually some original ideas in it both for men as well as women, and the writing is bright, sensual, and funny. The erotica book is pretty good, too, and the kit is a great gift for Valentine's or a bridal shower. You can get it as a gag gift for someone, but I'll bet they end up using it for real. Excellent book that lays out the steps to dating empowerment!

It's not what the author says so much as how he says it.
This book contains two absolutely marvelous concepts that really grabbed me. The big one was "Be The Chooser." It's not a new idea, but it was phrased in a way that helped me understand, very simply and solidly, exactly what it means to be proactive in looking for a good relationship. Another one was the clear explanation of the difference between dating for relationship practice, dating to find a life partner, and the big mistake of "dating to mate." and how to tell which you're doing and which you should be doing.

The last one wins. . . .
I had really been struggling w/ my boyfriends ex wife and his ex life. When I seen this book I knew I had to get it and I am glad I did. So many things in the book were exactly what I had been going through. This book not only helps you learn how to cope and deal w/ your significant other's past but it also helps validate your feelings. I got a peace of mind from this book realizing that it was not just me. That the things I have been experiencing are normal and to be expected. I also let my boyfriend read it so that he could see and understand for himself what I go through. The book is well written and blunt, the author does not sugar coat the issues, which I like. The book will help you realize that it does not matter that there was one (or however many) before you, all that matters are you are here now. The book said something that I had never really thought about before and that is the fact that although I may never be the first wife I can be the last and that is all that matters. I would encourage anyone who is having to deal w/ an ex wife and an ex life to read this book.

A realistic view of remarriage for both men and women
A very realistic book.I can recommend this book for both the new wife *and* the husband.There are not many books available that the husband can glean a "next wife's" point of view, but this one does provide that.

Next wife:You need this!
This is a great book for women who are going into a blended family remarriage.I am now into this situation and did not have any clue what I was going to get into in the beginning.Ex-wives are a pain in the marriage especially if the ex wife is the bitter one.If your new found love is not committed and will not put you in his priority list then it is useless for you to even try to get into it.He should be strong enough to not worry about what his ex feels but should worry more about how you the next wife feels.Almost most of the situations described in this book happened into my remarriage.LOVE is the only strongest hold in this kind of relationship.I give this book a 5 star rating.If you know of somebody going into this remarriage into a blended family situation, gift her with this book.She will appreciate your thoughts. ... I would agree with the reviews below.This is intended for couples to use together and discuss.That is where the real bonding and intimacy is.I can't say I'm confortable with everything they ask...just one of those quiet unemotional types. Christian Newlyweds: a devotional you'll have time to read!
The pastor who performed our ceremony gave us this book as a wedding gift, and has been a real blessing to us. Newlyweds often face so much change and upheaval that it may be hard to find time to work on the marriage. This book presents a year's worth of content, arranged by topic and meant to be read once a week. The chapters are brief but engaging, and each provides with discussion questions, a verse from scripture, and a story from a couple that relates to the theme. Once readers have finished talking about the content, they are encouraged to think about the week ahead and make plans to help each other in concrete ways. Great Discussion Guide
This is the only marriage/relationship book I've been able to make it through - and I look forward to it every week! We take turns reading a chapter to each other weekly, and in addition to the topics being very real to life/couple issues, the discussion questions give you an opportunity to better understand and learn about your spouse. We also like how each week it asks you to select a particular upcoming challenge we'd like our spouse to pray for us about, and a concrete kindness they can offer us - this really gets us in touch with what is going on with the other. beautiful wedding decorations and gifts on a small budget
Lots of tips on everything from the engagement party thru wedding party gifts on to the getaway vehicle.There are plenty of nice line drawings which should help the do-it-yourselfer.This book was a bit to frilly(lots of ribbons and bows)for my taste, but if thats your kind of thing, it would be great.

You can do it, cheaply
After a lot of research on weddings, I bought this book about a year before my 1996 wedding, and although I never used it for that wedding I kept it because of the ideas that can be used for occasions other than weddings. Biscotti was "hot" at that time, and she has an easy recipe for it to bag and give as gifts. Gift baskets are included as well as something called a "crazy quilt," which looks easy and I hope to attempt one day (mostly to use up all my fabric scraps.) Small budget, HAH!! Maybe for Bill Gates

Helpful book for back to school!
I just read an article about Stacy DeBroff in the Atlanta Journal Constitution where she talked about getting organized for Back to School. I bought this book after reading some great tips she mentioned, and just love it! The book gives all kinds of advice about how parents can be involved in helping their kids with school. She talks about a variety of school-related issues, from homework and parent-teacher conferences to bullies and learning disabilities. She really covers all areas of school and gives unique suggestions that I would never think up on my own!

ADORABLE
This book is wonderful! It feels beautiful in your hands and the content is laid out very cleverly. This makes it an easy, entertaining read. The author has done her homework; whether you want to know about "Best Movie Kisses"or the "History of Kissing", there are even results from her survey to tell you WHERE to kiss your loved one. Very cool!

such a sweet story
The author dealt with the issues of adoption with a lot of tact and was honest about some of the negative things that her family went through, from bureaucratic delays to their daughter's health problems.I was fully resigned to the fact that it would be a totally sappy story, but surprisingly it was just sweet but not overly emotional, so that's a plus for me. This book is informative not just for those in the adoptioin process (which I am not) but anyone interested in child welfare in general, or just a nice story about becoming a mother.All of the profits go towards the non-profit organization that the author founded so in addition to enjoying this book I am happy to be helping her cause.

Worth the read - Chinese adoption from a first-hand perspective
I don't often review books, but as my husband and I find we are going to be starting our very own "paper chase" to bring our daughter home to us from China, I have been relying heavily on reviews - so here goes mine.
Very realistic view of international adoption.
This is a great book recounting the journey of one couple in their quest to adopt from China.They are respectful of the culture, country and the people and feel very real emotions throughout the process.I enjoyed reading about their fears, concerns and dreams concerning their coming daughter, and never once got the feeling that they decided to adopt simply because it was 'expected' of them to have children.Read more
