1-0 out of 5 stars too small
If I had know that this was a small book with only 22 pages and not about the For Better or For Worse family I would not have bought it , not worth the $8.95
3-0 out of 5 stars I feel cheated
Okay, first off, let me say that I adore this series and the auhtor.Which is why I was so excited by another book being issued.

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved it so much
It shocks me that there are people out there who have never heard of Ayun Halliday, she is so funny, and all of her books are just a joy to read. The positive side, for me at least, that she isn't well known yet is I can give this book as a present with impunity, knowing I am introducing readers to this lovely author.

1-0 out of 5 stars Breathtakingly self-absorbed
From the first line of her first chapter, the author seems to resent being a mother.I found it hard to sympathize with her plight:she considered herself an artist, but then got pregnant by accident, and now is stuck being a mother. To console herself, she writes this longwinded and often tedious account of all the minutia she endures on a daily basis with two children in her charge.I feel for her kids who will one day read this and wonder why their mother was so ambivalent about taking care of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars HONEST & HYSTERICAL!
All I can say is that this author is truly one of a kind - she is so smart and so loving, but isn't afraid to admit things that all of us frazzled Moms out here are thinking. She does so in a very real & candid way, but there is nothing healthier than being able to admit our shortcomings and laugh at ourselves.I'm SO tired of all the books out there preaching about what we should & should not be doing - this book is nothing of the kind. It's a real book for real Moms and is really funny & wonderful! Her writing style is unique but again, I feel it is right ON......most Moms have run-on thoughts and sentences ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY!It just seemed so right & so natural - like hanging out w/ a good friend.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Laughed Out Loud
This is a great, great book.I ordered two copies and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival.I was delighted when they finally did and immediately devoured one.Being an overscheduled single parent, I read it while I was at the health club on the bicycle (what? exercise standing up?) and was literally overcome with laughter. So many things ring true and the others, if they haven't happened yet, I am expecting to at any minute.
5-0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud
Arlene Schusteff writes an amazingly funny, true life tale of raising kids today. I laughed out loud as I turned each page!!
5-0 out of 5 stars I want to have coffee with the author
This book is my life!I kept nodding my head in recognition, and empathy, over the stories told in this book. And I admit to honestly laughing out loud over several of these anecdotes.I'm so happy to have found an author who speaks not only to me, but to my generation of women. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very funny and interesting.
This is truly a must if you are a fan of the series. I always laugh when I see the episodes and I discovered that I also laugh when I read this guide. It is very interesting to know a little bit more from the characters, the people involved in the series and other funny stuff. They did an excellent job in selecting the dialogues. Even the scans are great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simpsons suck
This is an excellent book and very handy. I always say a quote from Family Guy, and sometimes wonder what episode it happened in. Well, its all here in one book. A few minor things are left out like Stewie telling Lois to burn in hell or Stewie in his cereal box fort. Very pleased with the book, even if the Simpsons had the same format. Family Guy changes and keeps the changes. Simpsons is old and stale. Its time for the show to get cancelled, how old is Monty Burns now? 168? Bart's still in fifth grade? Family Guy is the best cartoon of the past 20 years and not even Simpsons can surpass them. Family Guy is edgy and smart; The Simpsons quickly changed to a more violent and lewd format to keep up with Family Guy. It might work with some viewers, but to me, it'll never pass Family Guy. Pick up the book if you love Family Guy, you wont be disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Simpsons Did It!Simpsons did it!
I've been waiting in anticipation for a Family Guy episode guide for many, many years. However, I must say I am a little underwhelmed by the final result.

1-0 out of 5 stars doesn't translate on audio
while this might be a great read, the humor and timing does not translate to audio. It comes off as a boring narrative.

4-0 out of 5 stars good
a pretty good read, its a few years old but i still enjoyed it - the material doesnt get outdated.

5-0 out of 5 stars Laugh 'til the tears flow
Quick simply, Johnson has again provided a book that is both true to life and very funny. Her ability to remind us of the humorous side of life, even when life might be hurting, too, is a gift to be treasured. When I first picked up this book to skim it - borrowed from a friend - I laughed so much I had to stop reading because I was crying with laughter, unable to see and with an aching side.I tried to stay away from it, but had to continue reading - and thit all happened again. And again. Get it, read it, enjoy it, and share this gift of laughter with your friends! ... Read more

hilarious book, a great break from the serious parenting books.we laugh so hard we were crying.

5-0 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Parenting Book
I just read this book at a friend's house and ordered several copies to give as gifts for new parents.I laughed to the point of crying, just the thing new parents need to lighten the load of a new baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars hilarious!
I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard!Wasson's parody of parenting strikes at the truth so many times -- I saw reality written all through this satire.Plus, a thought I will often ponder:My parents could have spared me the problem of encountering multiple other Carlies in school by naming me Carlee or, for that matter, Carleeeee.I mean, seriously. Why didn't they think of it?=)Read this book, you just might laugh so hard that people will think you're sobbing. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A "must read" for anyone interested in the Lifestyle!
Written by a lifestyle insider, Doin One For The Team, offers insight on everything from dealing with the emotional issues of sharing one's mate, to every-day practicalities like hygiene. Simbaxxx uses her personal experience to describe how couples can learn and grow from successful swinging encounters as well as ones that are colossal failures. Written in a down-to-earth, reader-friendly style - and with a sense of humor - this is a book I would recommend to anyone who is curious about the lifestyle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Obviously written by an active participant, not merely an observer or someone in search of a quick buck....

4-0 out of 5 stars Guess who's coming to holiday dinner?
"50 Relatives Worse Than Yours," by Justin Racz, is a cleverly designed work of humor that catalogues 50 different types of annoying or embarrassing relatives--Buffet Loiterers, Holistic New Age Aunt, Power-Hungry Hosts, Family Newsletter Publisher, Glory Days Dad, The Computer-Illiterate Generation, Slutty First Cousin, Religious Zealots, The Force Feeder, Cheek Pincher, The Vegan, and more. Each profile features an illustration (generally a photograph), as well as characteristics of the type that are broken down by category. Some of the categories used throughout the book are the relatives' mottos, typical gifts they give, their secrets, the benefits of having them, and the drawbacks of having them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wasting a Big Chance at Satire
This book was a huge disappointment.I know it is supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek how-to manual for those who chose to remain child-free.I expected it to provide some form of witty social commentary.Instead it wallowed around in the tired "aren't babies stinky and dirty" territory instead of providing comic relief.I was greatly disappointed by the lack of clear, intellectual humor and insight.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not serious enough
I did not find this book to be particularly interesting. Maybe it is because I expected more from it in the first place. I expected the book to be an exploration of the topic of human breeding in modern society, that would assist me in making my personal desicion: to have children, or to have not. The book failed to serve this purpose, and here is why.
5-0 out of 5 stars To breed, or not to breed...
That is the question. For some, the answer is "Yes! Yes! Who wouldn't want to have a baby!" For others the answer is clear - "NO BREEDING. NO BABIES." Whichever one is your choice (and it is a choice), you'll find this book a fun read.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as useful as hoped for.
While this book looked like it would be useful, it fell short of that. Its hard to navigate to the section you want and its not user friendly when it comes to writing in it. Original concept though.

3-0 out of 5 stars Gag wears thin quickly
Comparing baby to a vehicle was funny maybe the first couple of times but then it just got annoying. There's some decent information here but you do have to wade through a whole lot of nothing to get to it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for free-form record keeping
I got this book to document the first year of my baby daughter's life. For that purpose, it looks like it will be wonderful.Using the analogy of car maintenance records, it takes you through the first year of baby's life. The first few pages are for recording vital statistics like birth weight and length, as well as some reflections on how you felt at the birth and who was in attendance. The bulk of the book is blank pages, one for each week, on which you can place events, accomplishments, discoveries, and milestones in your baby's growth. For instance, we've documented when our daughter could first track the movement of our face with her eyes and when she first picked her head up enough to turn it from one side to the other.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Story of Healing
Aside from being more-than-a-little horrified that she went away for the weekend knowing her cat was ouside with its lower jaw ripped off....this was a wonderful book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Says It All So Well!
An entertaining narrative of Chihuahua personality and charateristics per se, as well as an astute insight into the complexities of emotions and perceptions while restructring life after the loss of a spouse. An excellent account of canine capers and especially personal renewal, spiced with humor and tears, says it all so well!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great story that has meaning
I really related to this story as I too, lost my husband two years ago with cancer. Also my chihuahuas and cats and birds have been my salvation. I really understand where this lady is coming from. 5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting reading
Got someone you dislike, but can't confront them directly for whatever reason? Aw c'mon, we all have a mental "list" of people we "owe"... George Hayduke has made a living off telling you how to get even! You've seen him and his revenge books, "Get even", "Get even II", etc since you were young I bet.4-0 out of 5 stars The ideas are timeless

A waste of time, a waste of money. This book, dated 1981 is so out-of-date as to be irrelevant. 3-0 out of 5 stars Not quite the same with Wimmer handling the art chores
I will readily concede that it's certainly a difficult chore producing a daily comics strip and that joint efforts and ghost writers and artists are the norm in this artform.
4-0 out of 5 stars Laundry the Rose Way
Rose, Jimbo and Pasquale Gumbo are back (and let's not forget Clem and Vicki) in another collection of daily strips.Rose and family continue their way through daily life as only they can.Only here can making tea become a romantic moment or guardian angels carry school books.
