5-0 out of 5 stars Thanks, I Needed That!
This book massages every Christmas-induced ache. It's great to read sassy, spot-on lyrics that actually fit the music. I agree it's not for everyone, but this book is very funny!

3-0 out of 5 stars REALLY FUNNY, BUT NOT FOR KIDS
The songs in this book are really funny, and I'm sure that many people will find it to be a welcome ice-breaker during family gatherings. However, due to some profanity and other issues expressed in the lyrics, it's not suitable for kids.In fact, I'm not sure I would share it with the adults in my family at Christmas. While my family loves this kind of humor, it's disappointing to see the use of profanity (and God's name being used in vain) in a book connected to Christmas.A gifted author can always find choice, unique words to achieve their goals; they don't have to resort to profanity to make a statement or get a laugh.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Like My Family Christmases...Only Funny!
I thought this was such a great idea for a book, but I wasn't sure how it would sound to actually sing the songs. If you can get through them without laughing, you're doing better than Idid! Really, Really fun for the whole...Okay, for MOST of the family!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great books, bad condition
I ordered my books from here and the hardcover came torn. I must warn you to be careful ordering books online, you never know what you're going to get. I orderd my books for $30. If I had orderd later I would of have to buy for $45. It seems amazon rose the prices. The price is the same as in the stores so I advise you to get it in stores because you never know what your going to get in the mail. Or you can wait till it's $30 again or buy from a seller. Now on to the books. This hardcover includes 3 books. The first one features seasons 1-8. The second one features seasons 9-10, the third one contains seasons 11-12. Each one contains things you might of missed facts and other stuff like production photos songs and more. I reccommend this for all simpsons fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Guide for the Ultimate Simpsons Fan
This Episode Guide has EVERYTHING that you can ever imagine in an episode guide. From Seasons 1-12, it has details on every single episode. Its got quotes, what Bart writes on the chalkboard in the intro, couch gags, special guest voices, writers, screenshots, episode number (i.e. 8F05), air date, scene selections, runtime, and a whole lot more. All of this for only about $30, what a bargain. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Simpsons Forever!
I have the first book that covers seasons 1-8 and it is an absolute must-have for Simpson fans not in front of the internet who want to remember specific shows and lines from the shows at their fingertips. It has brought hours and hours of joy to my friends and I. I think the guy from Belgium is just bitter and might want to consume some Duff. ... Read more

I'm a big Dennis the Menace fan. This is the second installment of the complete Dennis the Menace single panels. I'm seeing most of the panels for the first time - what a treat!
5-0 out of 5 stars Little Masterpieces by Ketcham
Hank Ketcham's Complete Dennis the Menace 1953-1954 is every bit as great as the first volume. This volume, similar in format to the first volume featuring comics from 1951-1952, shows the growth of Ketcham not only as an artist/cartoonist, but also in the comic brilliance from the world of the little menace.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Title

5-0 out of 5 stars a GREAT little book that will make your heart smile
I got this book when my daughter was just a week old and fell in love with it.I read it during those late night feedings and found myself smiling, when little would make me smile! (after the first 5 days of zero sleep)The book is not full of advice, just things that are funny and relate only to the first month or two after childbirth. It's written in short little segments that are perfect for short reading spurts. If you liked the segment on Oprah on "real motherhood," then you will like this book.If you have never had a bad day as a Mom, your baby doesn't cry, your breasts never hurt, you got plenty of sleep and your world is perfect - then you won't like this book. 5-0 out of 5 stars It felt like my best friend was sitting with me at 3:00AM
One night at 3:00AM I was sitting with my new baby who was WIDE awake.I took a look at the bookcase, and pulled out this book which I had received as a gift. It was funny, reasurring and made me feel like I wasn't alone. The first few weeks are very tough on a new mom, and this book articulated it truthfully, with humor, and without the guilt.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Striking A Chord: A For Better or For Worse Collection
L. Johnson continues the saga of her growing and aging family in the grace and humor she is so well known for.As delightful and humorous as her previous books, her family continues to feel like their your very own family.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the family
Since my divorce 17 years ago Lynn Johnston's creations have been distant family to me. This latest book in her series simply gives me another chance to visit with them! I have the entire collection and have enjoyed every single slice of family life she's provided. While it's hard to watch them, and me, age, it's great to feel a part of something built on a solid foundation. Lynn has that ability in every stroke of her pen. Life, death, success, failure...they all experience it and sweep you into the story. As long as she's drawing, I'm reading and collecting. Thanks, Lynn.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm amazed...
at how Lynn Johnston keeps a fresh, new perspective in her comic strip. She's not a "funny" as her old comic strips used to be, but she always hits home, and always leads me to look forward to the following strip. This book is another wonderful collection, with insight, some good puns, and a couple of laugh-out-loud moments. But mostly, the ability to know your life is "normal!" Lynn Johnston identifies with us, and then draws it. Wonderful! ... Read more

Good to have in addition to some move factual references to assist in coping with infertility, as not much factual information in this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you for making me laugh!
I have never read a book like this before! Laughin'fertility is a very funny read. It takes a lot of courage to laugh at the ridiculous parts of infertility treatments and author Lisa Safran does a great job in sharing her personal experiences with a refreshingly humorous slant. Like the first 'Zits' treasury, this book will provide you with a lot of laughs, and you will probably want to return to reread the strips again in the future.I enjoyed this book immensely and plowed right through it in two sittings, even though I had planned to stretch it out over a week.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfecto para quienes detestan la sopa
"A buen entendedor, pocas palabras," dice el viejo refran. Cuando se dice Mafalda, quien haya vivido en las ultimas tres decadas en alguna parte de Hispanoamerica (e incluso paises de Europa) probablemente sabe que se esta hablando de ese adorable personaje que desborda en genialidad y gracia con sus ocurrencias de niña precoz, asi que no hace falta elaborar al respecto.
5-0 out of 5 stars Magnificent!!!
You will never imagine what kind of surprises are awaiting inside... the imagination is endless.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Mafalda" is a treat that English speaking readers deserve to have...
This book is a compilation of all "Mafalda"'s comic strips. Who is "Mafalda", you might ask?. Well, she is a very outspoken little girl who isn't afraid to say exactly what she thinks about many subjects, including her parents, politics, ecology and her enormous distaste of soup:)

3-0 out of 5 stars Funny book, but....
This is funny to read, expecially not being new parents and understanding exactly some of the things this guy is talking about. However, there is a lot of swearing (something we are not comfortable with)He also recommends lifestyles that we don't agree with. We got past that and enjoyed the book, but would not be comfortable giving it as a gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loving and Relating!
Now here is a book written by a man who gets it. You can read this book as a man or a woman and understand what all new parents go through during this very stressful time in their lives. But to be able to laugh about it is a beautiful thing and to be able to read someone who can write about his own experiences in a sarcastic, edgy yet truly self deprecating way is a true success of a book in my opinion. Which I think should count since I'm a mother and very picky about what I read.

5-0 out of 5 stars unbelieveably fun read!!
This is such a fun book to read. It's nice to read the writers experiences and every so often he gives advice that is helpful. What struck me most is how funny it is. The writer makes jokes about everything pregnancy, and does so with a lot of whit. My wife bought this for me when she got pregnant and I have read it three times. Thru out the pregnancy I found myself relateing to what the writer was saying. It is by far the best book I have in my collection. The Guys Guide to Pregnancy is the bible of father books. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A laugh for the "cool parents" you know
As a non-kid person myself, I was delighted to find a baby gift that would both amuse my new-parent friends and represent my own antisentimental view of the little buggers.Yes, this is silly; yes, it's short--it's a board book, after all.But it's sturdy, the illustrations are charming, and you really can mix a drink using the pictures.Have fun with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's fun, and that's all it's supposed to be.
We were given this book as a gift, and it has kept on giving! Everyone who stops by gets a kick out of it. Thus, in my opinion, it's definitely worth purchasing. Oh, yeah. Cheers! And thanks, baby!

3-0 out of 5 stars Would have appreciated a preview
This book is based on an incredibly cute concept - put those lazy, good for nothing babies to work already!I bought it based solely on that.I was intrigued. The book is pretty darn cute, I must admit, but I was hoping for something more.Like how about mention of the auntie, who will undoubtedly be the one cool enough to be giving this book?If you're looking for a new mommy gift that's unique, buy this book - just make sure the new mommy has a good sense of humor first! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Fun Read!
As you will note from most reviewers on this book, we began as fans of the Bob and Sheri radio show of which the author is co-host, I fall into that category as well. I did not have any particular expectations about the book, but I found it very enjoyable.
2-0 out of 5 stars Good Idea; Bad Execution
Sheri is great on the radio show she co-hosts however her humor did not work so well in this book of random thoughts and statements. The idea for the book, transforming and organizing her family, is good but I found the book to be way too scattered to be considered a good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Zits
Reading a Zits Sketchbook is like going through an album of family pictures.
5-0 out of 5 stars To Ripoff by Thomas G. Field, Jr.
Actually, if you look at the back of "Crack of Noon" by the UPC bar code it says "Includes cartoons from 'Thrashed' and 'Pimp My Lunch'" "Crack of Noon" is the collection those two books are included in. All of the larger books of Zits are collections.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ripoff
I like Zit's, but it's scandalous that this and other Andrews McMeel books don't specify overlapping content. Thrashed and Pimp My Lunch contain nothing other than the contents of Crack of Noon.

"Rules for Aging" is not a one-time read. It is a book to besavored and cherished.Surprise! Not your usual "how to" book. Rosenblatt is not only a wise and funny man, but he is a skilled and talented writer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rules for Aging
This is an excellent book. Initially, I bought a copy of Rules for Aging as a gift for someone who is turning 50. After receiving it and peeking just a little, I promptly ordered two more; one as gift for someone else and one to keep for myself. Rosenblatt's words are wise and very, very funny without being pretentious or offensive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Laughs
As my children have gotten older, Zits has taken the place of Calvin and Hobbes in terms of how close to home it hits. The strips are funny and accurate, and this book shows the evolution of the characters from the beginning.I had a lot of laughs from this collection, and expect when I reread it again in a year I'll laugh again.First, I have to get the next treasury!

4-0 out of 5 stars Zits is the best
This is a fun Treasury - if you don't have the previous volumes.Except for some extra non-essential art work, there are no new panels. If you don't have the other volumes and want a book with a nice selection, good choice - otherwise, don't waste your money.

I have found this book to be very helpful in supporting and dealing with the emotions of my spouse as we go through our IVF journey. The book really helped me understand the delicate emotions of someone experiencing infertility and how comments like "relax", "stop worrying about it", etc. actually do more harm than help.As a result, I am much more supportive in this IVF cycles than I have been in other cycles because I changed the focus of my comments and have avoided saying the wrong thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's about time
It is about time that someone finally addressed such a tough topic with whit and humor. The author took an approach that could leave someone wondering, "How could it possibly be done?" But it was possible, and it has been done. All too often this subject is met with fluff and pity.Personally, I felt it is refreshing to read the truth of how it really feels instead of that "my forest has no trees" sob story. If you can't be realistic about something that affects so many women, you will never be able to truly help. This author however addressed the realism of infertility and told it how it really is.For this, I applaud her and her painfully true, yet humorous, book. Thank You! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Snippy
For me, this was a useless piece of snippy little one-liners, aimed at making fun of aging and the aged.One-page cartoon drawings with one-liners were not the self-help offering I thought the book would be.I was not amused.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Funny
This is more liberal claptrap that is not funny. You can tell this was written by a woman who has a political agenda.Skip it! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars humourous read
For our second time around, I wanted to see what my husband could learn and now that I have read it, I will definitely tell him it's a "must read".

5-0 out of 5 stars Made me laugh, made me think
So many books on the market about pregnancy focus on the medical aspect of what is growing in your wife's little belly, and not how that little thing is changing your wife and life forever! This book describes to a 'T' how this life changing event reeks havoc on everyone involved in the process, and it does it in a way that is bust-a-gut funny. Before I read this book, I was like "what the heck is wrong with my wife?"After reading this book, I was more like "Ohhh, I know why she just ripped my head off... she hates the smell of carrots!"Great book, fast and fun read, a must read for a new dad. I've bought it for every father to be, and they in turn have done the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very funny, very helpful father book
I bought my husband this book and he barely put it down. What was more fun is that he read it to me and we both laughed together.Yes at times it was a bit much but the overall ideas and understandings were quite helpful for both of us, but really it gave my husband a male take on things.I looked through other books but they seemed so long and not as reader friendly as this book is.This book is easy to pick up and put down whenever you want.I highly recommend it.

This is an AMAZING book.It is written for kids who have RAD but Iknow that some of these ideas work with my none RAD children as well as my RAD child.A MUST HAVE for any parent! It makes you look at life in a whole new light.Everyone MUST check this book out!

5-0 out of 5 stars Not for parents of "regular" kids"
I tell all parents and all one-on-one workers with challenging children to get a copy of this book. While these approaches were written for parents of children with RAD (reactive attachment disorder), many of them are applicable to children diagnosed with ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), Bipolar, or other emotional and behavioral issues. Parents who have "regular" children are unfamiliar with how different it is to parent a challenging child. These pointers help keep kids thinking and wondering...just what's needed to help them heal.

1-0 out of 5 stars Abusive Parenting Methods
I am shocked that any health professional would recommend this ... collection of parenting activities (organized like a recipe book). Apparently St.Clair's basic idea is that parents can build trust with their children by humiliating them and by acting irrationally and unpredictably. St. Clair promotes the notion that home life is a game that parents must win and children must lose. This is just more abusive nonsense from the "Holding Therapy" cult. ... Read more
