5-0 out of 5 stars Finally I feel understood!
This book is amazing. If you do not believe in a higher power it is not for you. The author understands how we feel as she is going thrugh it too. This is a must have for all couples who just don't understand. Be prepared though, you will need a whole box of tissues.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank You Ms. Rardin
Thank you to the author for putting all of my feelings in front of me/us. I have given alot of my energy to becoming pregnant and things that I once enjoyed have become a hard chore. With this book, it will give you a sense of peace regardless of your religion. The 12 steps are very helpful and something I have ran copies of and placed them around our house. Another thing was the poems, each and everyone touched our heart and soul. My husband and I would read this together at times and then at times I would read it by myself. Thank you so very much for writing this little book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unique & needed book for infertile AND their family/friends
I have been searching for a book like this for a long time. Not one that is full of Christianity or medical help or help choosing a path, just one to read so I don't feel so alone, confused, and hopeless. This book let me say "yes-that's EXACTLY how I felt/feel" and get some emotion out as well. Read more

Impotence is mainly a inability of maintaining an erection for sexual intercourse. Psychological impotence can be easily cured with counseling but some of the types of impotence are irreversible. Physical impotence mostly occurs from cardiovascular illness or diabetes. If a man has an erection at night the impotence is surelypsychological related but if he has none than it might be physiological however you might find interesting the book "Natural Penis Enlargement: New Methods of Avoiding and Curing Impotence, Premature Ejaculation, and Erectile Dysfunction Safely and Inexpensively. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible relates to us
Often when hearing the bible stories we think of the characters as far off, distant, and hard to identify with. This book closes the gap.It explains how we can relate to the matriarchs, how we can get a glimpse of what they went through and what we can learn from them in a practical way.I would definately recomend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars IVF Explained By Compassionate Dr
One of the best information sources about in vitro fertilization.Very well written with sensitivity and compassion by an experienced doctor who has successfully helped many overcome infertility with IVF. Although IVF is not for me and my husband, after reading Expecting Miracles I am much more informed about those who travel down this journey to parenthood. An excellent recommendation for friends and/or family members of (as well as) those attempting IVF.

5-0 out of 5 stars A keepsake for my son - of Dr. Zouves IVF/immune treatment
This book is an accurate and amazing portrayal of the intelligence, skill and compassion of Dr. Christo Zouves. I am one of his patients. I was told by other physicians that there was no known cause and no treatment for my continued pregnancy losses. Dr. Zouves discovered and treated the cause and the result is my son.I endured extensive treatment to moderate my immune response to pregnancy and complete successfully one cycle of in-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer.4-0 out of 5 stars Compassionate look at cutting-edge fertility treatment
"Expecting Miracles" is a warm, compassionate and upliftingdescription of the experiences of a dozen or so couples who sought help inconceiving a child from the author's infertility clinic. Each chapter tellsone couple's story, as a sort of a mini-character study or "casestudy"; we learn about the patients' medical histories, theirrelationship with their significant others, their personalities, and theimpact that their difficulty in conceiving & carrying to term has hadon them & their families. Interspersed with the human stories are clear& succinct explanations of the science and medical technology used tohelp infertile couples conceive. Dr. Zouves' reverence for the spiritualityand mystery inherent in the reproductive process was particularlyrefreshing. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Info for Cancer Patients FacingProstate Surgery
Dr. Shabsigh's book is an excellent source of information and a great comfort to someone diagnosed with prostate cancer and faced with a decision regarding treatment options. His book was recommended to me when I was considering radical prostate surgery to remove my newly diagnosed cancer. From my research it was clear that surgery was the best option for me but I was greatly concerned about the possibility of side effects from surgery that could interfere with the quality of my life. Reading Dr. Shabsigh's book gave me the reassurance and optimism to go forward with surgery. My surgery was 100% successful and everything I read in Dr. Shabsigh's book is true.I have sinced purchased other copies of his book for friends who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This book should be recommended by urologists to their patients who have been diagnosed with cancer and are considering treatment options. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh, what your past can do to you!!
This book is fabulous!!I am sorry that the one reviewer who miscarried thought the author was asking that we take blame for what happens to us.I didn't get that at all!! The author explains, instead, that past experiences may have left us with a "bad taste" that could be impeding our success at conceiving. She never says it's our fault. But that guilt, abuse, grief, etc. could all be blocking our ability.Through doing all these exercises, I went through some major catharsis.I won't lie:It was pretty painful at times to face all the horrors that I had forgotten over the years. But I have come through feeling like the world has been lifted from my shoulders. For Example:My mom grew up poor and during the great depression. She had hoped for a better life but instead married and had children, which kept her poor and unfulfilled. As her mother did.My mother blamed her having children for why she was not fulfilled.I grew up poor and am only now realizing that I fear having children because of my mom's attitude.I only wish I could afford to find a therapist willing to take me through the journey.I know I still have a long way to go, but oh, the journey is looking much brighter now.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hope
I am three-fourths through this book and have found it to be a great exploration of both my emotional and family history.Being a counselor, I have spent a great deal of time examining my family patterns, however, the author guided me through the process in a slightly different way, than the conventional Genogram.I found her twist on the basic Genogram to be very enlightening. It even lead to a conversation with my husband, that might not have happened otherwise.I am finding that no matter what infertility book I open, I am not finding "the answer."With this book, I found answers to questions I wasn't even asking.

1-0 out of 5 stars Opposite effect
I had a miscarriage last year after a long attempt at conception and I'm trying everything to get pregnant again. When I saw this book in the discount bin, I grabbed it.What a mistake. For about two months, I felt WORSE.The book suggests that I miscarried because I wasn't "thinking" correctly about my pregnancy or had doubts about it.All the specialists encourage you not to blame yourself but this author does just the opposite. If this book helps you, with it's silly exercises, more power to you.My suggestion is to save your money. The discounted price that I spent for it was way too much. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wow..what a great book.
When reading this book I felt that Dr. Silber was talking directly to me. In a patient and non condesending manor he brought a lot of clarity to some fuzzy concepts that I had.Imagine a medical book that is easy to understand!!!Thank you Dr. Silber for sharing your years of experience and study with us.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book! Helped me determine my problem!
I have to disagree with some of the poor reviews. After trying to get pregnant for 2 years, I got this book and began following some of Dr. Silber's advice, on my own thought I had figured out what my problem was after charting my temperature and reading the chapter on that, and sure enough went to the Dr who diagnosed the problem I suspected I was having. I was started on Clomid and was pregnant a few months later!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very accurate and factual, corrects misinformation.
This book was the most accurate of the 3 I read. The most important information dealt with exact timing of intercourse (or IUIs) in order to conceive. Some of the information I had earlier was wrong, which actuallycould have prevented conception! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Salve for thehurting heart
Using humor, honesty and scripture, Vicki Caswell's words are like a salve to the aching heart of a childless woman.I laughed, I cried, I sighed and I rested, knowing that for the moments I was reading her book, I was in a safe place with someone who really understood my pain--my journey.I also appreciate that rather than sounding like a third person observer, Vicki chose instead to courageously open up windows into her own heart. That kind of raw vulnerbility is rare.Furthermore, her thought-provoking questions at the end of each day's readings are poignant yet gentle--they challenged me to address the effects of infertility on every aspect of my life, and ultimately to see purpose in the pain.

5-0 out of 5 stars Touching and Thought provoking
Vicki Caswell's book was both humorous and profound. The poetry was excellent, scripture references appropriate and daily journal entries encouraging. This book is one to be read and reread as it has tremendous healing power. Reading it was like having a good friend along the infertility journey.Thank you God for using Vicki Caswell so powerfully to help others. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice book!
When Viagra appeared the media was making publicity for it a lot so some myths about it appeared as well as strange stories. These could have an impact on relationships so this book tries to help people who take Viagra not to feel ashamed or have a low self esteem because it is a natural problem which affects million of people. Other naturally surgically free methods for impotence are described in the book Natural Penis Enlargement: New Methods of Avoiding and Curing Impotence, Premature Ejaculation, and Erectile Dysfunction Safely and Inexpensively. New ... No Pumps, No Pills and No Gadgets! Vol. 2" by Platinum Millennium.

5-0 out of 5 stars A valuable guide to understanding the male mind!
" What an incredible book.A must read for any man or a woman interested in understanding and helping their partner achieve happiness through love and science. The Viagra Myth provides a new understanding of the complicated world of relationships. The insights about men and their fears were eye opening for me.With the creation of Viagra, most people thought that somehow there was now a miracle cure to solve relationships that were about to fail. However, through Dr Morgentaler's words, it is clear that as much as technology plays an important role in our lives, we can't forget the core rules of a successful relationship: clear and open communication about one's expectations, fears, wishes and dreams.Dr. Morgentaler's book shows chapter by chapter how the combination of all of these elements allows us to create a space where we feel comfortable with each other, hence making it possible for our sexual selves to be free and more enjoyable, which in turn builds the foundations for a stronger and successful relationship. Thank you, Dr. Morgentaler!"

5-0 out of 5 stars Viagra, the untold stories.....
Dr. Morgentaler, a practicing Urologist and Professor at Harvard University, has written agreat book about Viagra that demystifies this wonder drug and in plain English, underscores its value and its pitfalls. Each chapter is devoted to real clinical cases that demonstrate how love, aging, relationships and physical changes can make any man or woman seek the advise and solice of a physician or therapist. Dr. Morgentaler does not dispute the value of Viagra in the right circumstances. Rather, he points out that in many cases, men and women seek the drug but come to understand that, in fact, they need a greater appreciation of their partner, or an understanding of the normal sequelae of aging.Dr. Morgentaler also has chapters on the use ofViagra in Gay relationships and in cases of prostate cancer. A final chapter answers "frequently asked questions" in a most honest and understandable fashion. I recommend this book to any adult, male or female, who is curious about Viagra, and who has questions about sexual function and dysfunction. A terrific read! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this one
AMUCH better book is Toni Weschler's"Taking Charge of your Fertility"."Fertility Awareness Handbook"provides far less useful information. While it gives a general overview of reproductionand fertility signs, it doesn't provide truly useful information on how touse FAM to avoid or achieve pregnancy.I am someone who is trying toachieve pregnancy, and I found this book's single page on "how to getpregnant" a joke.I agree with the previous reviewer, this bookbasically tells you "you can get pregnant anytime". ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A much-needed encouragement
Couples who are struggling with infertility already understand the pain, loneliness, grief, and, yes, resentment and bitterness that comes with the experience. Cindy Dake offers hope through the gospel of Christ from a fellow-traveller, and it is a much-needed encouragement to the couples. This book is packed with practical knowledge, but other books can give that information. Its real strength is in relating that knowledge with biblical points. For instance, how does a Christian decide when to stop infertility treatments? What factors should be considered with medical treatment, adoption, or child-free living? Mrs. Dake doesn't make those decisions for you, but she makes sure you are aware of your options and factors that should go into making those decisions. A chapter is spent relating stories of infertility from the Bible, which is a faith builder to those of us feeling like we are alone in this experience. I also appreciate how the book is written to friends and family of the infertile couple, to help them be able to better minister to their loved ones.Read more
