3-0 out of 5 stars I agree with some points....
I was expecting a little more from the book than what was offered.I felt as if I were being told how to feel rather than being comforted with words.Perhaps I mustn't be so senstive.Infertility is not an easy subjet to discuss and hurt feelings are bound to arise.I didn't seek medical help until my husband and I tried for three years.According to this book, that's a huge no-no and I was almost frightened that there might be absolutely no hope since we delayed our trip to the doctor.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful And Comforting
We received this book as a gift while dealing with our long infertility journey. It was such a blessing to have the compassion and reassurance this book provided during a time of our lives that was so hard and lonely (lonely because unless you have gone through it, you can't really understand it). After God blessed us with a child I passed this book on to another friend who was dealing with infertility as well. She was so pleased and relieved to get this book once she opened the pages and began to also receive it's reassurance and support.

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful Christian resource for infertility
I was so pleased to finally be able to read this book.It was great to hear about infertility from both the husband's and wife's points of view.I felt like my struggles with infertility were validated and discovered that there are others feeling the same things as I do.This book does take a Christian perspective to infertility, which I appreciated. While the authors do give some perspective on assisted reproductive technologies, I would also recommend speaking with your pastor or spiritual advisor to find out what your church group thinks, as I have discovered it varies some between denominations.I appreciated all the great web links and other resources the authors outlined in the book as well.A read well worth it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars He's a urologist
A urologist by training, Dr. Silber is not trained as a reproductive endocrinologist, making his techniques very technology oriented as he is not trained in reproduction, only reproduction technologies. He would do better to stop promoting technology as the answer to reproduction (quite a money-maker for the doctors involved) and stick to doing reversing vasectomies as he was trained to do.While he offers alot of good technical info the book is utterly lacking in medical and surgical treatment options, something he apparently doesn't believe in.The medical evidence points to better results and better health for mother and babies when medical/surgical intervention is used--lower reimbursement but much better for everyone involved except centers that promote IVF and tech based medicine.

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect place to start your IVF research
I picked this book up as one of the first reference books when my husband and I began to investigate IVF.The book is not about ethics debates and does not begin to address the emotional issues surrounding infertility and assisted reproduction, but it does tell you the technological facts of the various procedures. The author discusses testing, diagnosis and treatments as well as giving sample calendars and timelines you can expect if you undergo the emotional and physical journey towards conception.I felt very prepared after reading (actually studying) this book, so much so that my own reproductive endocrinologist was amazed at the questions I asked when undergoing treatment.3-0 out of 5 stars Informative but incomplete
I liked the optimism of this book and Dr. Silber's advocacy of an aggressive approach to treatment, but I wouldn't say this is a comprehensive book because it doesn't really address the emotional/psychological aspects of infertility and its treatment. Plus, Dr. Silber's self-aggrandizing tone was suprising and distracting in a book that is supposed to be about helping others, not self-promotion. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars first steps
This is such a tragic, moving story - hearing the voices of men discussing the almost undiscussable. But for me the most amazing aspect is their ability to cope - their ability to 'go with the flow' and get on with things. Of course, this book is a very tiny sample (and even the author recognises that the sample is biassed - too many sterile rather than infertile respondents compared to population statistics - perhaps that tells us something about sterile men) and necessarily the author could not interview any man with fertility problems who had made the ultimate withdrawal from an unsatisfactory world.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a blessing!
This book has been a great help.I am in the early stages of infertility. My husband and I have had so much pressure from family, friends and the church about when are you going to have a baby.I laughed and cried while reading it. Finally, I said to myself someone understands. Even if you just started on this "journey of infertility", I recommend it. The author does not leave you hopeless. She helped me to remember what is important while still validating my feelings.I cannot make having a baby my "idol". God is still good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful resource
This book helped me immensely in bringing closure to our infertility journey and helped me find peace. It answered and helped explain many of the issues I had been dealing with while struggling with infertility.I definitely recommend it to anyone who asks God, "Why me?"However, I would like to add that you may want to wait to read it until you are near the end of infertility treatments and considering other options. It is very straightforward and may upset someone who is just starting off dealing with infertility.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good companion for the journey
Since I, too, have struggled with infertility, I was anxious to compare my experience with the author's. And I found I could relate to so many things she said; she has a beautiful way of making a private emotion seem very universal. If you are a Christian asking the tough questions about infertility and treatment options, this is a great book, and a great comfort. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly, thoroughly worthless
There are a lot of infertility books out there. Most of them repeat the same information over and over again. This is one of the more worthless specimens of this latter sort.If you haven't read a single infertility book, then you might find something of value in this book.(But I would get it -- or something similar to it -- from the library if I were you.)If you've already done some reading, then skip this one -- there's nothing new in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Covers Basics...Very Reader-Friendly
This book was my introduction to getting a diagnosis (and treatment) for infertility. It is a great "quick-reference" book--it covers the basics in a very clear fashion. It's a great place to start learning if you find yourself starting the intense journey of infertility treatment. I highly recommend this book for couples.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money!
There are some fantastic books on fertility on the market. This one isn't even remotely close. The Fertility Handbook tries to do it all in 135 pages and sadly, ends up doing very little. This little book attempts to cover everything from emotional concerns to all of the causes and treatments of infertility and causes of & living after miscarriage.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A helpful, compassionate book
As an individual and as part of a couple I've read dozens of books on infertility. Unfortunately, they are usually preachy and/or clinical. "Couple Therapy For Infertility" was neither. It offered newinsight into how infertility effects relationships. It gave me personalguidance - I've recommended it to friends and to my therapist! I amthrilled such a book has *finally* been published. This is an importanttopic that demands such sensitivity and compassion. Recommended reading forall couples. Thank you sincerely!

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for couples facing infertility treatment!
This is a magnificent resource.Infertility treatment has become so common. The medical advances have been tremendous. But before this book appeared few experts in infertility paid attention to the psychologicalconsequences couples oftenface when they try to conceive. Many times theemotional difficulty can literally tear a couple apart.Using case studiesand extremely thoughtful analysis, the authors prevent a guide for bothcouples and professionals to help overcome the many hurdles raised by thisrapidly expanding technology ... It was a great book with lots and lots of information. I have lost two sons to still birth and this book gave me hopes and options and let me be in the drivers seat. 5-0 out of 5 stars I'm so glad I found this book!
After years of infertility, and all the unsettling emotions I experienced, I had hoped that getting pregnant would let me be "normal" again.I was amazed that even though I finally made it to the pregnancy world, I still had some of those old infertility feelings surface at the most unexpected times.Reading this book helped me realize I'm experiencing something normal for those of us who have lived the IF experience.I can see this being a reference for me for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Congrats - you're pregnant ! Now what ?
Many infertile couples are so focussed on trying to get pregnant, they often lose sight of the fact that the real challenge - that of bringing up their child -arises only after they achieve their goal and have a baby !This book is a very helpful guide on parenting for all infertile couples ,and discusses issues which most books on infertility ( and most onparenting ) do not touch.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm not the only one!
The Long Awaited Stork is the book that I wish I'd found three years ago when my twins were born!Like many other infertility veterans, I thought that my struggles were over when I became pregnant and delivered twohealthy baby girls.Indeed, things are great but I still find thatinfertility is part of my life.I loved it when Ms. Glazer referred to the"cameo appearances" that infertility makes. It's a greatdescription for those waves of feeling that come back when I least expectthem. This book is a GREAT gift for anyone who is newly pregnant orfor a new adoptive parent. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful book
This is a pretty helpful book. You can keep track of your medical history, etc. in it. It helps out when you are taking your meds too- you just record them in there so that you remember when you took them and how much the dose was.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential route to organizing your fertility efforts
I seldom find the time to add my voice to Amazon reviews - but in this case I felt compelled to do so in order to assist the author in combatting a less-than-postive reviewer! 5-0 out of 5 stars A response from the author
I am saddened that one reader felt this way about THE COMPLETE FERTILITY ORGANIZER.I wrote this book to assist a woman in gaining a sense of control over her fertility, by providing information about fertility, infertility diagnosis and treatment, references, and a centralized location in which she may keep all of her own medical information. There are also sections which assist a woman to explore the emotional/spiritual side of the (often very stressful) infertility process. The book is designed to accommodate all degrees of infertility; it also has a section to track essential information when a woman does become pregnant. Please read my letter to readers (in editorial section above) so you will know exactly what this book contains;and I truly hope you'll find my book, with its comprehensive information and organizational tools, a good value. I have heard reports from many women who have found this book a valuable resource, and hope that others do, too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars These words are so comforting
After 3.5 years of trying and a fourth failed IVF treatment, I finally found comfort in the words of Dr. Daniluk. She proved to me that I'm not alone in my anger, jealousy and frustration. Infertility is challenging enough without doubting my emotions, and her words gave me the strength to realize it's okay to feel the way I do. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
I love this book. The emotional turmoil of infertility is not easily put into words, but it is done fabulously in this book.I've been reading it thinking "Yes, that is EXACTLY how I feel"No, it doesn't sugar coat what this roller coaster ride is like and probably isn't the best resource for anyone who has been trying for less than 1 year to get pregnant or anyone who is not ready to accept that there just may be a possibility that treatments will not work. But, for those of us who know that our fertility is a struggle that will not be easily overcome, if at all, it is a great source of information. I highly recommend it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Discouraging
I found this book to be discouraging and depressing.Infertility is a miserable experience, and reviewing the bad feelings associated with it is counter-productive.We know we're not alone and we know we're on an emotional rollercoaster, now someone offer us something useful. This book reviews all of these feelings in great detail, making one dwell on the helplessness of the situation. The information on handling family and friends was helpful, but overall, I would not recommend this book to anyone dealing with infertility; please find another source of support. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars informative, sometimes biased
I thought this book was informative, especially when it laid out in no uncertain terms the difficulties of becoming pregnant for women over 35.I also feel it has a great deal of information, especially homeopathic remedies which the reader will not find anywhere else.I object to a bias in the book in favor of career professionals. The book explains that women have to work, which may not be the case and does not link enough the obesity epidemic to the mass exodus of women out of the home, to which it is directly related.Poor eating habits and the mass consumption of convenience foods has led to the prevalence of obesity in our society, as has a general lack of respect for what generations of women used to do in the home, prepare healthy meals. While the book does touch on obesity's relationship to infertility, it fails to adequately explore the reasons for this situation.
