This is the best possible gift that you could give your grandchild - very charming illustrations, with lots of room for pictures and your own comments and doodles - and just the right questions to elicit the story of your own life - this is the gift that all grandchildren should really want - the story of their grandmother told in her own words about what she was like as a girl, a teenager, a young woman - all those things that the pictures alone don't tell.It is not only a gift for your grandchild, but also for your son or daughter, who may not know these things about you.I gave this as a gift to other friends and family members who I knew would also want to share these thoughts and memories with a beloved grandchild.I just wish my grandmothers had given this gift to me.

Grandmother Remembers
I purchased this book first in about 1982 for a "future" grandchild.I simply fell in love with the illustrations.I found it very easy to fill in the various categories about myself and my family.Eventually, when my first grandchild was born in 1991, I completed the sections which referred specifically to him.My grandson loves to read "his" book from Gramma.My granddaughter loves hers too.I keep several copies of Grandmother Remembers on hand to use as gifts for expectant grandmothers or for my own future grandchildren.I highly recommend this book to all Grandmothers or expectant Grandmothers.You will enjoy remembering things from your childhood and family as you complete the pages.Most of all, you will enjoy sharing this information with your grandchild.

A Treasure!!!
My parents bought this book for my grandma when I was little.She filled it out and gave it to me when I turned 13, 2 years after my grandfather went home to the Lord.It is a treasure to me.I love reading through it and can't wait to show it to my daughter when she gets older.I am close to my grandma, but this book helped me learn so much more about her, my great-grandparents, and my grandpa.The part I love most is "What your grandfather would want you to know" -- he would want me to know that he was very proud of me.I still get teary-eyed even thinking about it.

The Gifts of Being Grand
This is a beautiful book - very touching.I have it displayed as one of my "coffee table books"!Also check out "Grand-O-Grams" for a great way to keep in touch with grandkids.This includes postcards that can be sent for many holiday/occasions, as well as, some just for fun!

It's so grand being a grand!!!!
Marianne Richmond's book is absolutely wonderful, warm, touching and sunny!!!! As a grand, it portrays the job to a tee.It is both humorous and heartwarming.I can't wait to send it to my new grand friends!!! The illustrations are colorful and make one feel so good all over.I read the book to my Mom, who is now the greatgrand-she loved dit!!!

A very quick reading book , but by far one of the funniest I read. It's a book for all grandmothers everywhere and when the grandmothers are finished pass on to your daughters who will also enjoy the read. It hit home in so many ways, with truths that moms and daughters everywhere share as they grow up together. Great Gift for New Grandmom
I bought this book and fell down laughing, so I bought it for all my friends,new grandmas, experienced grandmas, even one grandma-to-be.The author has shared her anecdotes and they are hysterical. In the mix, are tips on grandmothering and advice on how to follow the rules laid down by our grandchildren's parents without losing our minds. If you like humor with an edge, you'll love this book.

I beg to differ...this book is not that funny
I bought this book, planning to give it to my mother-in-law, who is a grandmother-to-be (I'm 3 months pregnant).It had gotten positive reviews from others, and sounded cute and humorous.After reading it, however, I did not find it cute or humorous.It is basically a collection of one grandmother's anecdotes about two of her grandkids, along with quasi-generalized advice about being a grandmother.I understand that some of the book was meant to be written with a satirical tone, but advice such as, "never let anything bad happen to the kids on your watch...but as we all know bad things happen to good grandmothers...if it's just you and the child, lie," and "check with your grandchildren to make sure you are winning the grandma race [against the child's other grandma]...if...they say they like the other one better, buy them something they've been wanting..." just doesn't strike me as being very funny--more like irresponsible and mean-spirited.I suppose some readers will find this humorous, but this definitely is not my brand of humor. ... I'mma Give This A 4
I gotta give this a 4 for the fact the Nat was being so stupid that i had to skip a couple of the parts with her. But overall this book was a page turner, I was dissappointed at how it ended. But I'm waithing to read part2, it better be as good as the first book.

O MY GOD
This book was sooooooo good i read it in like 2 days my boyfriend was mad i payed no attention to him. But o my god i loved it but i dont know i wish it would have ended good becuz in rectangle of sins the both turn in to ho's but everything turns out for the better. If you haven't read it you gotta go get it you dont know what your missing

Helps you while not being a "self-help" book
I should point out that I am a fan of Dr. Dan's radio show so this may be a bit of a biased review.
Heartwarming and enlightening
This book really helps to put in perspective what matters in life.The author has certainly learned about humility, humanity, and how the two interrelate.I found this book to be extremely heartwarming and honest with many great life lessons to offer!

a manual for living
This book was so helpful and insightful, I bought copies for several of my friends.I learned about this book from my mother who is in her eighties.She has had to deal with the challenges of aging, she found the writer to bevalidating of her struggle yet inspiring.As a psychotherapist , I have recomended this book to my clients and they have enjoyed and benifited greatly from reading it. A wonderful gift to give
My grandson and his wife gave me this book last Christmas and i have had a ball writing in it.I have since purchased 7 copies to give to my children and friends and everyone says they are finding it very entertaining to be reminded of their childhood and growing up years.

treasured
i gave this to my grandmother when i was in college.she past away soon after i graduated, but this book is a wonderful keepsake.everytime i pull it out it brings back great memories.i only wish that i had gotten it for her sooner so that she could have finished it.the questions are about her past, things that i would have never known.love it and will cherish it forever!!

Thinking about my life and sharing it.
My daughter gave me the book GRANDMA, TELL ME YOUR MEMORIES so I could share my life with her two children when they get a little older (they are 3years and 6 years old right now). The book asks such questions as, " Tell about some good advice your father gave you." "Who was the most famous person you ever met as a child?" A must for all grandparents

Terrific!
Sue and Julie have done a first rate service to humanity! Their thoughtful book is full of practical, creative ideas that will draw families closer together. The layout of the book makes the content crisp and easy to read, and the whimsical art adds to the fun. I normally shy away from books like these, because the projects typically consume more time than I have, and the craft projects involve collecting lots of materials and creating lots of mess. But the projects in this book are fun and easy to do. As the authors say, sometimes the simplest things can create the most meaningful fun and the best memories. This is a must book for grandparents. It would also be a great resource for every daycare center, church nursery, and preschool where you the goal is to entertain children with activities that stimulate creativity and imagination. I love Grandloving!

What a wonderful resource for grandparents! The wealth and wide variety of information included in this comprehensive book is amazing, and so very helpful to grandparents-to-be--whether they`re "experienced" grandparents, or about-to-be for the first time. "Grand Loving" begins with pregnancy, offering the reader ways to make memories for parents-to-be. Some of these suggestions involve remembering when the kids (soon-to-be-parents) were on the way. These are things that will provide priceless memories for the parents-to-be and the new grandchild.

Amazing!!!
I had purchased this book a couple of years ago for my grandmothers.I was so eager to learn about our family history.I am now 28 and one of my grandmothers health is fading fast.I just went to visit her over the weekend and she gave it back to me completed.I have never read a book that meant so much to me.It has stories of her growing up and my great grandparents, which I never knew. Stories of how she and my grandfather met to stories about my mother and myself as a child.She obviously took the time(2 years) to put her thought into this book.It is something that I will cherish for years.I recommend this to anyone that is a grandparent or even makes a great gift from a grandchild.

Delightful!
I received this book as a gift and love it. There are activities for babies, nursery rhymes, short stories, songs, recipes, poetry and wonderful art work. Not only do I use it with my grandsons but I visit a woman with special needs every week and we sing songs, read stories and poetry from the book and we love to look at the pictures.

SMALL book
I love reading For Better or For Worse and buy the new ones whenever I find one but this book was small in size and only had a few sentences on every other page.I want more reading and laughs for $7.00 a copy.

Too Small
While I like everything about this book, it was entirely too small. It is also not very sturdy. Had I known that, I would have purchased something else.

Priceless
I bought this for my grandparents years ago (this one and the grandma one).Grandpa has now passed away, and the memories and stories are invaluable to me now.My whole family of parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and even my children are now lucky enough to have all of their memories written down for us.

Genealogist's Delight
Anyone working on their family history will delight in this book. It presents questions to be answered by Grandpa for every day of the year. When the questions are all answered, the family historian will have a wealth of information for research and hundreds of anecdotes for the family tree. Darling gift for a wonderful Grandparent
This is a great gift book to give, and even better if you give it with the companion book The Gift of Being Grand.My sister bought this for my mom.I was drawn to it immediately because of the beautiful illustrations, then as you read the words inside The Gift of Being Grand you are touched by it's sweetness.I ordered both books as a gift for my mother-in-law.I now realize that I want to order another set for a mentor/friend who is also a special Grandma.The Grand-o-Grams make it easy for a busy, but loving/caring Grandparent to drop a quick note to their special someone.My kids love to get mail and I know that they will treasure these notes coming from their Grammie and Gramma.Thank you to the author for a delightful combination of sweet art, thoughtfulness and gift that keeps on giving.
